Accidental purchases can occur due to various reasons, however, these situations can be easily avoided by applying some basic preventive measures.
iOS devices offer a wide range of security features from passwords, to fingerprint or even face recognition options.
Depending on your device, you can personalize your device’s security settings and apply additional confirmation steps to the purchasing process. These measures are recommended to keep your device and purchases safe, should an unauthorized person or minor gain access to it.
To amend your Security Settings, go to Settings App, General Section, and access Restrictions. There you can enable or disable the available options by entering your password.
Once Restrictions are enabled, from the “Require Password” button you can determine the frequency of transaction confirmation requests. You can choose for the device to prompt for a password every time you make a purchase (Immediately) or set a time interval, for example, the password requirement can pop up every 10 minutes.
Alternatively, you have the option of disabling in-app purchases completely.
